Former fast bowler Stuart Broad urged England to stick with their current skipper Jos Buttler and head coach Matthew Mott despite a disastrous ICC World Cup 2023 campaign where the defending champions have only managed to win one match so far.
Buttler and Mott are under serious scrutiny by England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) but Broad believes that Jos will learn from his mistakes and get better.
"Jos will learn what has gone wrong and why," Broad told BBC Sport.
"There are guys that they will move on from, and build some faces that Jos Buttler can lead and drive forward."
Broad then argued that the entire team lost form at the same time which created further problems for the defending champions and added that he is not someone who believes in changing everything in an instant.
"It is like the whole team has lost form at the same time," said Broad. "They have barely put a foot right at this World Cup, which has been difficult to watch.
"I'm not of the belief it should be a rip up of the strategy. I would keep Matthew Mott as coach and Jos Buttler as captain," he said.
"There are some fresh faces that need to come into the group to really stamp home what the strategy is, playing without the fear of failure and really taking the game on. That naturally happens after a World Cup anyway."
It is worth mentioning that England are now having a similar campaign to their 2015 World Cup one, which Broad was a part of and they were out of the Group Stage.
After this England decided to build the team under the leadership of Eoin Morgan who eventually led them to their maiden World Cup triumph on home soil in a famous and one of the most unforgettable finals at Lord's against New Zealand.
